Back to Running

Marriage, having kids, and divorce have been hard. Having two autistic kids and absolutely no help at the house took its toll on me. I married thinking we would continue to workout but things got in the way. It's just how it worked out. I gave up working out because my now ex-husband quit. Let's face it....he came 5000 miles from Germany so you do what it takes to make a marriage work so I quit. He no longer had desire to ride bikes. Its ok though, I have two amazing kids to show for it. I needed to slow down to conceive....working out the way I did was too hard on the body. Now i have Tyler and Jaxton both autistic but I have high hopes they will be ok after 18.

I have gave my life up for them and my family and all is gone now. Divorce is hard but its been good for me to finally have time for myself. The ex has them 50 percent of the time and it is heart braking to me having always been with the kids full time but I have to look at the good side. I have half the time to do what i want. RUN!!!!!!!

I have run every day since I turned 50. I play pickleball and have a blast. Today I went to try to get into some games this morning and met some really nice people. I suck!!!!! cant do much with a ball but i damn sure tried. I was embarrassed to be sitting there all alone at first and probably looked like a dork but got invited to a game and did not have a clue of the rules...lol I then left and came home to get a was dog sitting and had an amazing run on the trails.

Did I run the entire 45 minutes? hell no. I took every chance i had to stop and talk or meet dogs. Its a start. i don't plan to do ultras again but working up to an hour will be awesome. Even tho.......I am and ultraman....I am normal now and don't have to do the miles i did. Its one day at a time..... feels good tho.
