GIGATHLON
Just in case you cannot read the website and what I am doing I am going to let you know what all the Gigathlon is for the 7 day race. Each day we do 5 sports. They are not in the same order everyday but the sports are inline skating, mountain biking, road biking, swimming, and trail running. We start at 6am in the morning and have until midnight to finish. There a couple of days that the cut-off is 10pm. There are 8150 people in the race and I think there are only 200 solo. I am pretty sure I am the only women but since I can’t read the website I am not real sure. This means I am out there with all the boys. The teams start 2 hours after us and I bet it is not long before they pass us. If you think about I will be doing some of this at night depending on how slow I am. I will go through each day for you.

I am not sure that the distances are exact but they are close. If you would like to read more on the Swiss Gigathlon then you can go to www.gigathlon.ch I usually click on the French version and then click on Parcours (maps) and it takes me to a map of Switzerland. If you want to see each day then you can click where it says Day 1 and it will take you to a closer view with the distances and a topography map that looks pretty scary. This is what I have been looking at to go by. I know that you can use things to translate but I am hoping that I get most of my questions answered next week when I go to camp.
I also will have an RV and 3 people to support me when I go. One of them speaks the language and massages , the other is my coach, and the other is my companion that knows most about crewing. I will be given a tent that some of the crew will sleep in. Thing to think about taking are sleeping bags, pillows, peanut butter, nutrition, 4 bikes, clothing, skates, 2 pair of shoes, tubes and tires, camel backs, water bottles, and well I am sure there are other things that I can think of but this just gives you an idea.
I am renting an RV in Frankford and will be driving to the race site on July 3rd. The race is on July 7th so there is a small possibility that I might take more time to get to the camping. Peter my coach flies in just before the race and Dirk will pick him and take him back to the airport. After the race I will ship two bikes to Amsterdam for my next race on August 29th. I will most likely ship some of my cloths that are clean there too so I do not have to bring them back. I am not sure what will be clean…I never saw a laundry place when I was there last time. These are some of the things that I am working on daily. All this takes a lot of thought.
The Blog- I think that this can be done easily with a phone call to my PR guy but this week I am checking on on getting a blackberry to see if that works for me best in the future. I am not sure and all of this stuff is so high tech. I might try one next week to see if it is worth it and then decide if it is worth having in France. If you have any suggestions and know anything about this stuff then please email me your thoughts.
