Ultraman 2010

Ultraman….Here I come 11/20/10

Happy Thanksgiving-   Last night (Saturday night),  We celebrated  Thanks giving.   I kind of forgot what it was like to have one since I have been doing Ultraman for so long.  Donna has been with me on most of my races so she too has missed out.   This year we made up for it and had a really nice evening last night before I got on the plane today.   I  want to start doing this every year.    It was so nice and very special.

Rest???   What is that?  The reason for not blogging is only because I have been so busy.   I don’t think that some people know that I work.   I actually work pretty hard and don’t get much time to sit down.  I usually like to watch about 30 minutes of TV in the evening but even that has not happened.    I love to be busy but why did everyone decide to call for massages on the same week?

Am I Ready?  I will be by Friday but at this moment….hell no.   I got to get some sleep this week and then I will be ready.   Yesterdays packing was so stressful.   We went for a bike ride in the morning to check the bike out.   It was not shifting right on Friday so I wanted to see if it was just me or what.   I have the new electronic shifting so it should not have been messing up.   Yesterdays ride only confirmed what I feared….something was wrong with the bike.

Johnny and Author took it to the bike shop for me.   I had lots of other things to pack.   I got a call from Johnny telling me that I was not going to be able to ride the bike.    Well….what can I say?   It was like the rug got pulled out from under me.   Turned out  the crankset was bent.   The only way to fix it instantly was to get  another one.   I needed it right then not next week.   A decision had to be made.   Johnny and Author figured it out for me.  They came together and fixed the problem.  Author took his crank set off his bike  for me to use.   Johnny got his cassette and Fort Worth Cycles and Fitness worked hard to get my baby bike ready.

I am excited to ride this bike now.  I was before since I had Phillip Shama build it …but now it has parts from my best friends on it.  I am so blessed and have lots of good friends to keep me going .   They make me feel so special.  I am ready.

Tapering-  so I have had my German friend Markus hanging out at my house tapering.  I wish I could say that I was tapering like him ….playing all day.   The poor guy hardly even got a meal at my house.  That is how busy I was.  One day on our way home  from the pool Markus asked about dinner.   This was lunch time.  I had only planned 30 minutes to shower and be ready for my massage app.    I did not think about feeding my guest.   Oops.  I do eat but it is on the run and not fast food.  I just did not have time this week to cook up a bunch of stuff…poor guy

The day after I did not get his dinner we got up to train again.  We did a long run and then a bike.  I had to cut the bike short to get home to start work.  Markus was going to stay out longer.  I came out from working and found Markus in my kitchen with a two orders of fast food stuffing his face.    He said he was having a bad bike ride since he was starving and needed to eat….oops again/  He went out to finish the bike ride after some food.    I hope Thanksgiving dinner made up for it.

It has been fun having Markus around.   He has been learning about our culture.   He laughs at the drive up pharmacys, banks, and mail boxes.    It is  funny to see the expression on his face when he learns something new.   He has gotten a little bored tapering so I am posting some pics to verify this.

Kona-  so if this gets posted then I made it to my condo.   I am not sure that I even have one.   I booked it two weeks ago so my credit card should have been charged but wasn’t.   I did not get confirmation either.    It does not really stress me out.   I should have called Friday while the office was open but forgot.   It is nothing I cant handle.    If not then I have other options and will figure things out in the morning.
